In an effort to make voting in this year’s Director Election even more convenient, we’re rolling out new options for how you vote.
Beginning June 1, you can vote by SmartHub, online or by mail. All ballots will be mailed out June 1, so if you plan to vote by mail, be on the lookout for our ballot envelope.
Even though Haywood EMC does not have a contested director election this year, the co-op urges you to vote via one of our three methods as it will assist in establishing a quorum for this year’s annual business meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on August 3 at the co-op’s Waynesville main office.
Two candidates are seeking re-election to three-year terms on the Haywood EMC board. All Haywood EMC members may vote regardless of where you live. You may direct the Haywood EMC Proxy Manager to cast your vote per the enclosed authorization. Please vote for one candidate in each Directorate District.
As an incentive for members to vote in this year’s uncontested election, Haywood EMC plans to have a random drawing from all proxy ballots signed and returned. One $100, two $75, two $50, and two $25 cash drawings for a total of $400 will be given away.
All ballots received on or before 5 p.m., July 14, will go into a drawing for $100; all ballots received on or before 5 p.m., July 26, will be in all remaining drawings. The $100 drawing will be Monday, July 17, with winner notified that day. All remaining drawings will take place on Monday, July 31, and Haywood EMC will attempt to notify winners by noon on Tuesday, August 1. Winners will also be announced in Haywood EMC’s newsletter in the September issue of Carolina Country magazine.
