Each year, Haywood EMC joins other electric cooperatives across our state and nation to celebrate Lineman Appreciation Day. Held annually on the second Monday in April, this day recognizes lineman’s critical role in providing our members with the power they depend on every day.
Haywood EMC's lineman work tirelessly throughout the year to maintain the cooperative's 40,500+ power poles and 3,000+ miles of power line - that's longer than driving from New York to Los Angeles! Regardless of the weather or time of day, lineman have your back.
In addition to serving their own communities, lineman are also called on to provide aid across the state and nation following major storms and other times of need. This commitment to “cooperation among cooperatives” is one of the core principles that demonstrates the true strength and character of the cooperative network.
Help us celebrate the great lineman of our cooperative by sharing any photos of Haywood EMC lineman on the job on social media on April 8! Don’t forget to use the hashtag #ThankALineman and tagging our accounts. We love to see photos of our linemen in the community on Lineman Appreciation Day and throughout the year as we thank our lineman for their many outstanding efforts.
