Duke Energy Repair Work to Affect Haywood EMC Member-Owners in Transylvania County

Haywood EMC was alerted by Duke Energy on Tuesday afternoon, November 19th, of their plans to postpone the planned outage that was originally scheduled for Friday, November 22nd.
The new date and time for this repair and subsequent outage will be Saturday, December 7th beginning at 9:00 PM and ending Sunday, December 8th at 6:00 AM. This outage will be necessary for Duke Energy to replace a pole on their transmission line feeding Haywood EMC’s Quebec and Rosman Substations in Transylvania County.
This outage will affect the same areas mentioned before. They are in and around the following communities: Lake Toxaway, Quebec, Balsam Grove, Rosman, Wolf Ridge, Wolf Mountain, Round Mountain Road, Pickens Highway, Old Toxaway Road, US-64 (between Rosman and Whitewater Road), Silversteen Road, Canada Road, Whitewater Road, Cold Mountain, Golden Road, Parkway Road (NC215), Blue Ridge Road, and Macedonia Church Road.
Member-owners in the Sapphire, Bear Lake, Conestee Falls, and East Fork areas may face a brief outage as operation crews work to isolate these areas from the larger outage from Duke Energy.
